Mavro Rodo

Set in a sunlit corner of Greece, Mavro Rodo follows Sister Elizabeth, a novice who has spent her life in a monastery after a childhood illness. An earthquake shatters the place of worship, and the abbess sends Elizabeth to a village near Ioannina to ride out the repairs and keep the order intact. There, at a festive gathering hosted by her step sister, Elizabeth encounters a young man whose warmth and persistence draw her in. He pursues her openly, even as the idea of a romance would clash with the vows she has barely begun to claim. The series tracks how faith, duty, and a magnetic attraction collide, forcing Elizabeth to reckon with the path ahead.

Directed by Kostas Anagnostopoulos and created by Giorgos Kritikos, the MEGA drama released in 2022 builds on material tied to a book and features Fotini Papatheodorou, Michail Tabakakis, Leonidas Kakouris, Yiannis Koukourakis, and Katerina Didaskalou.
