About Million Arthur
When a strange surplus of people claiming the title "Arthur" appears, six unlikely champions converge on England to challenge a corrupt ruling order that affects the whole world. Each Arthur brings a different style and set of skills, and their clashes create as much friction between themselves as with the officials and monsters they fight. The show moves fast, mixing swordplay and strange technology with sharp humor and personality-driven scenes. Episodes focus on missions, skirmishes and character moments, keeping plotlines episodic rather than tied to a single mystery, so you get action and banter without major spoilers for how everything resolves.
Released in 2018, the series was created by Tsuyoshi Tamai and adapted from the Million Arthur game franchise. The anime features voice work from Ayana Taketatsu, Sora Amamiya, Tetsuya Kakihara, Inori Minase and Yu Serizawa.
The series did not garner major industry awards or big festival prizes. Critical attention was limited and it didn’t rack up notable nominations, while viewer scores are modest, around 6.1/10 from a small sample. Still, individual voice performances and character designs were often praised by segments of the anime community.
As part of Square Enix’s wider Million Arthur franchise, the show helped translate game characters and aesthetics into animated form. It reinforced the property’s multimedia reach, encouraging fan art, cosplay and niche streaming interest, even if it didn’t break into mainstream anime conversation.
Reaction to the show was mixed. Fans and reviewers tended to enjoy the energy, varied cast and action set pieces, but many pointed out thin plotting and uneven pacing across episodes. Themes center on leadership, legitimacy and what it means to be "worthy," with the series posing questions about power and identity more than offering neat answers.
