On the cusp of adulthood, a world born from human imagination spills into daily life as phantoms appear, unseen by most. Haruhiko Ichijō starts his first year at Hosea Academy and quickly links up with a trio of phantom fighters. Mai Kawakami, an older classmate, wields the Spirit of Five Elements in defense against these entities. Reina Izumi uses the Phantom Eater to pacify or banish them, while Koito Minase fights phantoms in solitude, her resolve steely and quiet. The group negotiates the chaos of high school rituals, friendships, and extracurricular ambitions as the boundary between the ordinary and the uncanny blurs. A pivotal incident hints at larger truths.
