New Life Begins

When a nationwide marriage election brings hopeful contestants to the provincial town of Xinchuan, Li Wei intends to fail the contest and go back to her quiet hometown. A chance encounter with Yin Zheng, the sixth young master of a prominent household, alters those plans. He opens his home while taking on public duties, and Li Wei ends up sharing ordinary days with him, through all four seasons. As their relationship softens, they rub shoulders with other siblings whose different temperaments and fates shape a warm, domestic portrait of life in Xinchuan without revealing any later twists.
