Red Moon

Set at a private boarding school tucked into the Serra de Sintra, Red Moon centers on Afonso Azevedo and his growing attachment to classmate Isabel Oliveira. At first their relationship looks like any teenage romance, colored by school rivalries, friendship tensions and family complications. But Afonso hides a dangerous condition, he is a vampire and stuck in an eternal adolescence. As their bond deepens, that secret starts to strain everyday life, bringing late-night threats, ethical questions and pressure from peers who sense something off. The show keeps its focus on youth, identity and the costs of a love that crosses a literal boundary between human and immortal, without giving away key twists.

Created by Pedro Lopes and Inês Gomes, Red Moon premiered in 2010 in Portugal. The series stars Rui Porto Nunes as Afonso, Mafalda Luís de Castro as Isabel, with António Camelier, Catarina Mago and Tiago Teotónio Pereira in supporting roles, and uses the Serra de Sintra landscape as a recurring visual element.
