William Foster, a gifted neuroscientist, is haunted by a terrible accident that took his family away. He refuses to accept their loss and pursues a radical plan to restore them using controversial science. In a hidden lab, Foster pushes a risky procedure that claims to recreate the people he misses, arguing that memories and identity can survive replication. Mona, his wife, becomes entangled in the work as the scientist believes reviving his family is possible, and he drags others into the project.
