When Liz Ortecho returns to her old hometown of Roswell to help her family, she runs into Max Evans, the boy she once had a crush on and who is now a local police officer. She soon realizes Max has been hiding extraordinary abilities and a completely different origin, and she chooses to keep that secret while they rebuild a connection. As they start to piece together who and what he might be, violent incidents and a history of official secrecy point to other extraterrestrial forces at work. Those revelations strain the town's politics and people's fears, putting Max at risk and testing the fragile trust and romantic spark between them.
