About She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man
Kagami Sakamori was a top player in the VRMMO Ark Earth Online known as Danblf, a veteran summoner with a fearsome reputation. One night he falls asleep at his keyboard and wakes up inside the game's world, but shockingly he’s trapped in the body of a young woman. To avoid embarrassment and preserve his status, he adopts the name Mira and pretends to be Danblf's pupil, using his knowledge to guide others while keeping his true identity secret. The series follows his attempts to handle magic, politics, and monsters, teach allies, and manage the awkward social consequences of his new appearance, as he also grapples with social expectations and pride.
The 2022 anime adapts Hirotsugu Ryusen's light novel, bringing the isekai gender-swap premise to the screen. Nichika Omori voices Mira, with Ayumu Murase, Minami Hinata and Yui Horie among the cast. It aired in 2022, aimed at light novel readers.
It didn't win major industry awards, but it attracted attention in genre coverage and among voice acting fans. Individual performances and the quirky premise were noted in fan roundups, and it helped raise visibility for certain voice actors among fandom communities online.
The series contributed to ongoing interest in game-based isekai and gender-bender stories, prompting cosplay and online debate about identity play and fan-service choices. Social clips spread online, cosplay picked up at events, and fans debated gender presentation widely. It found a modest niche among viewers who like lighthearted role reversals.
Critical response was mixed, reflected by an average around 6.5/10 from viewers. Reviewers and fans often enjoyed the premise and occasional humor, while many pointed to uneven pacing, reliance on familiar isekai tropes, and tonal shifts between comedy and action across review sites.
