About Sirāt

On a moonlit approach through the remote mountains of Morocco, a man named Luis and his son Esteban descend into a setting that feels like a pulse in the dark. They have come to a rave that seems to shimmer on the edge of a map, chasing a lead about Marina, their daughter and sister who vanished months earlier at a different festival. Hoping for a final clue, they join a caravan of revelers drawn toward a last night gathering. The pursuit becomes a probe into family duty and stubborn hope, unfolding among speakers, drums and starlit terraces. The landscape presses in, and the line between pursuit and danger grows thin as the night swallows the trail.

Directed by Oliver Laxe and written with Santiago Fillol, Sirāt arrives in 2025 as an original screenplay project. The film pairs Laxe's intimate approach to character with a music driven tension that builds the drama into a tight thriller, using landscape as a visceral participant.

Box office figures have not been publicly released. The film has appeared at festivals and received limited theatrical exposure rather than a wide commercial rollout.

The film holds a modest 6.862 out of 10 from 312 votes on its audience tally, signaling a mixed response. It centers on family bonds and the pull of communal rituals, using music and the harsh landscape to examine longing and the costs of chasing hope.
