Set against the late Southern Song Dynasty as Jin forces press the borders, The Legend of Heroes follows the fallout of a family tragedy that scatters two boys into very different lives. A wager between Taoist Qiu Chuji and the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan sets a plan in motion to train selected descendants in martial arts, shaping destinies across generations. Guo Jing grows up with simple values and steady loyalties, while Yang Kang benefits from privilege but faces moral compromises. Their paths cross with allies and rivals, and a tender relationship between Guo Jing and Huang Rong blooms amid wartime strain, even as Yang Kang's choices ripple outward and test bonds without resolving the larger conflict.
