About Yarichin Bitch Club
Takashi Toono arrives at the isolated Mori Moori Private School as a timid first-year from Tokyo, hoping to fit in. He quickly meets Kyosuke Yaguchi, a friendly classmate who becomes his first ally, but Toono avoids sports and instead signs up for what looks like an easy photography club. That club, however, turns out to be anything but ordinary: its members are a loud, outrageous bunch of seniors who call themselves the Yarichin Bitch Club and treat the room like a playground. Toono and his friend Kajima cope with the chaos in different ways, while complicated crushes and awkward encounters ripple through the group, mixing awkward innocence with blunt humor and pushing social boundaries without resolving major mysteries or cliffhangers.
Released in 2018, the anime adaptation was directed by Ai Yoshimura and is based on the boys love manga by Noel Mizuki. The show features voice work by Yuki Ono, Yusuke Kobayashi, Takuya Sato, Ayumu Murase, and Masahiro Yamanaka, and it kept a short, focused run tied closely to the source material.
The series did not collect major industry awards or mainstream nominations, so it wasn’t a fixture on awards lists. Its recognition has been more fan-driven than institutional, with praise and criticism coming from niche communities rather than major prize juries.
Among boys love and adult comedy fans the show made a clear mark, known for its explicit humor and willingness to push erotic and taboo elements for laughs. It sparked a lot of online discussion, fan art, and translations, and became a reference point when people talk about boundary-pushing BL anime, even if it remained contentious in broader anime circles.
Critics and viewers are split, reflected in a user score around 7.24/10 from 44 votes. Supporters point to the bold tone, high-energy voice acting, and comedic timing, while detractors cite thin characterization and heavy reliance on shock humor. The show leans heavily on sex comedy, friendship dynamics, and the awkwardness of early attraction, so it’ll appeal mainly to audiences comfortable with adult, provocative content and exaggerated personalities.
