Chrono Crusade

During the Roaring Twenties in New York, a young nun named Rosette Christopher teams with a sardonic demon named Chrono to keep the city safe from supernatural threats. They belong to the Magdalene Order, an organization that hunts evil across the United States, taking on a string of cases where the line between holy duty and personal peril blurs. While Chrono handles the dangerous battles, Rosette lines up clues about her missing brother Joshua, whose fate drives much of her resolve. The series blends brisk action with dark humor as it follows their uneasy partnership. Their cases span cities and states, and Rosette's faith and resolve are tested as moral lines blur during each encounter.

The series premiered in 2003 as a TV anime created by Atsuhiro Tomioka, Yuu Kou and Hisao Muramatsu. It arrived in the early 2000s anime wave and features a capable voice cast led by Junko Minagawa and Akira Ishida.
