About High Lane

On a climbing vacation, a tight-knit group sets out for the peaks even though notices warn that the routes are closed and official risks loom. What starts as a thrill becomes a test of nerve as creaking bridges, hidden traps, and treacherous terrain keep them off balance. The mountain economy of danger keeps mounting as suspicions grow and loyalties fray, turning a routine trek into a fight for survival. An unseen menace begins picking them off, one by one, in ways that feel ruthless and precise. The friends are forced to improvise, trust dwindles, and the line between danger from the environment and danger from within becomes blurred. The climbing turns into a nightmare hunt.

Directed by Abel Ferry, High Lane arrived in 2009 as an original French thriller conceived by Johanne Bernard, Louis-Paul Desanges, and Ludovic du Clary.

Critics described it as a lean, taut survival thriller that leverages the alpine landscape to heighten tension. The film probes hubris, loyalty, and trust under pressure, showing how fear can fracture friendships when the stakes spike.
