Love Comes Softly

Marty, a nineteen year old pioneer, heads west with her husband Clem to begin a new life. They hope for a fresh start, but the trip ends in tragedy when Clem dies, leaving Marty alone and pregnant. A widower named Clark Davis offers a pragmatic arrangement: he will provide a meal, shelter and stability, while Marty helps care for his daughter Missie. She accepts as a temporary fix, a way to weather frontier hardship while keeping her child. As they share chores and build a life on the prairie, their uneasy partnership starts revealing something more than mere practicality.
