About Radiostars
Ben returns to Paris after years chasing a dream of stand up in New York, only to find his life in disarray. He crosses paths with Alex, the magnetic host of the Breakfast Club, and with Cyril, a forty-something who'd rather stay out of the spotlight, plus Arnold, the group's confident leader. They hire Ben to write for Blast FM, the station that rules their mornings. But trouble hits when audiences desert the show. The four of them climb aboard a bus and set out to meet listeners all across France, hoping to win them back. What begins as a chaotic media stunt becomes an inside look at ego, friendship, and the price of fame, told with wit and warmth.
Released in 2012 Radiostars was directed by Romain Lévy with a screenplay by Mathieu Oullion. The film brings together Manu Payet, Clovis Cornillac and Douglas Attal in a fast paced comedy about radio players and misfit road trips.
Box office data is not provided in the prompt, so there are no confirmed worldwide gross figures for Radiostars.
Even if it's not a blockbuster, Radiostars spotlights the clash between Parisian media prestige and provincial audiences, turning a road trip into a loose study of fame and camaraderie. The humor comes from real world details such as late night radio politics, on air banter, and the awkward moments when performers realize how easily audiences can switch their loyalties. Fans of ensemble comedies may recognize sharp riffs about radio culture and how ego can both fuel and derail a show.
Critics often note the film balances affectionate satire with character driven moments. The central tension between glamorous media life and ordinary listener connections yields themes of humility and loyalty, and shows how listening and collaboration can revive even a faltering show. The cast's chemistry helps keep the tone light while letting characters grow and reflect.
