The Boondock Saints

Two Irish Catholic brothers in Boston decide to clean up their city by violently stopping criminals who terrorize their neighborhoods. Raised with faith as their compass, Conner and Murphy MacManus apply a code of justice that doesn't care about due process or public opinion. Their bold acts begin to pull the underworld into view, and ordinary residents start calling them vigilante saints even as fear spreads. An eccentric FBI agent named Paul Smecker becomes obsessed with finding who is responsible for the bloodshed. As authorities close in, the twins find themselves balancing loyalty to each other with the consequences of their crusade.

Directed by Troy Duffy and based on his own screenplay, The Boondock Saints arrived in 1999 as a low budget indie project that developed a cult following. It stars Willem Dafoe, Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus.
