After her husband dies unexpectedly, Nancy Botwin suddenly needs money to keep her quiet suburban life and care for her two sons. With few legitimate options, she begins selling marijuana to neighbors and acquaintances, and what starts as a pragmatic hustle soon drags her into increasingly risky schemes and criminal connections. She works to protect her children from the darker side of her business while relationships with her brother-in-law Andy, friend Doug, and the boys shift around her new secret. Her resourcefulness raises the stakes for everyone around her.
