When shy street kid Tyrone Johnson and privileged aspiring artist Tandy Bowen cross paths in a rough part of New Orleans, they find their lives transformed after a strange incident. Each awakens with abilities they barely understand, and their powers seem inexplicably wired to the other person. As they try to make sense of their new gifts, the two teenagers discover that their fates are tethered beyond coincidence, drawing them into a dangerous web of crime, corruption and a darker force threatening their city. With different backgrounds and pressures, they must decide how to wield their powers and whether trust can bridge their worlds. Their bond deepens as they navigate daily school life and sudden peril that tests their choices.
